About Hartzell Rupp Ophthalmology

Kathleen Hartzell Rupp, MD is currently the sole physician at Hartzell Rupp Ophthalmology. Prior to purchasing the practice in 2012, Dr. Rupp worked for her father, David Larry Hartzell, MD at the same location when it was known as Hartzell Eye MDs. Dr. Rupp provides comprehensive care for the entire family, including infants and children. Some of the services she offers include diabetic screenings, glaucoma management, cataract surgery, routine eye exams, and LASIK. Hartzell Rupp Ophthalmology also provides contact lens fitting, prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses at our optical shop.

Meet Dr. Rupp

On a personal note, Dr. Rupp was raised in Cumberland County and graduated from Cumberland Valley High School. She majored in Biology at Houghton College in NY and attended medical school at Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey, PA. She completed her transitional year at York Hospital and her residency at Penn State Hershey. Dr. Rupp is a Board Certified ophthamologist and has been practicing general ophthalmology since 2001. When she's not working, Dr. Rupp enjoys photography, playing the piano and spending time outdoors in the sunshine whenever she can. She currently lives in Mechanicsburg, PA with her husband.
